Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 2022 Campaign gameplay first impressions

From the first moment of the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 2022 Campaign, we were impressed. The gameplay, visuals, and audio are all top notch and the story is intriguing so far. Call of duty modern warfare 2 is a direct sequel to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. After the explosion at the end of Call of Duty 4, players now assume control of

The year is 2022, 13 years after the "events" of Call of Duty Modern Warfare.

So what happened in the 14 years since Modern Warfare? Your guess is as good as ours, but we know that the events of Modern Warfare didn't end well. We get a glimpse at the start of the game of what appears to be a destroyed city and the numbers "16-12" written on the ground with a blood-like substance. We don't know if this is a reference to the fact that this is the 16th Call of Duty game and the last one was Modern Warfare, or if perhaps the other games in the series are part of the same story — but they all take place in the same universe.

A lot has changed in the world of CoD. You'll see some familiar faces, but it's not just a rehash of previous games.

For those of you hoping for a simple rehash of past Modern Warfare games, you're going to be disappointed. Infinity Ward has added a ton of new features and has made so many changes that this game feels like more than a sequel — it feels like an entirely new game. One thing we noticed right off the bat was the addition of a new HUD. Your health bar, ammunition, and grenades are all shown on a small display next to and above your reticule. You can toggle this on and off with a button press, but it's there if you want it. We also noticed a new feature that allows you to quick-swap between two different guns. In previous games, you had to go into a menu and change your weapons, which was a bit clunky. Now, you can press Y/Triangle to go into your weapon wheel and then hit the button corresponding to the weapon you want to equip. This is a much more efficient way of changing your weapons and we hope Infinity Ward keeps this feature in future Call of Duty games.

The gameplay is fast and responsive. This is an extremely polished game that feels like a natural evolution from last year's game.

If you played the beta for this game, you'll know what we're talking about — this game plays like a dream. The controls are smooth and responsive, and the shooting feels extremely satisfying. While we can't confirm, it certainly seems like this game uses the same engine as last year's game — Modern Warfare 2. We also noticed that Infinity Ward has added a few new mechanics to the game, such as a kill streak system. At any point during the game, you can hit the right bumper/R2 button to bring up a menu with a whole slew of different ways to kill your enemies. If you've played games like Gears of War, this will seem familiar. You can select a kill streak like an airstrike or helicopter gunner to rain death from above, or you can select "end streak" to cancel it (useful if you don't want an enemy bringing in a helicopter in the middle of your team deathmatch game).
